The picture is a bit blurry, but confirms it...she is almost there! Ashley is taking complete crawling stance now, and she rocks forward and backward. She is starting to get frustrated with her scooty, Army crawl and it seems like she's teaching herself to really crawl out of necessity...those things across the room could go in her mouth and she wants them! We've started putting objects of desire a few feet in front of her to entice her...cell phones and remotes work the best since they're apparently WAY cooler than her toys. (She's inherited her own remote, a universal with the batteries removed.)
We've been discussing new parenting issues! First, foremost, priority is BABY PROOFING! We need to make our house Ashley-friendly (our fireplace hearth is in the background of this pic, needs some cushy edges!). Watching what accidentally ends up on the floor is crucial, too! Everything is in the mouth and we need to watch it.
New parenting issue #2 is FOOD! We've gone back and forth with this...when & what should we feed her. We've decided to start her on a bit of iron fortified rice cereal now, followed by vegetables THEN fruit. Stay tuned for updates and pictures of Ashley's first meal!
